Terms of Service

By creating an account, accessing, or using The Server, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must discontinue use immediately.

The Server is privately operated. The operator reserves the right to modify, restrict, suspend, or permanently terminate any account, service, or content at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.

Users have no ownership interest or entitlement to continued access, usernames, or stored data.

Use of this Server is restricted to individuals 18 years of age or older. Any account identified as belonging to a minor will be terminated immediately.

You agree not to use the Server to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Transmit unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, or abusive content
• Distribute malware, spam, phishing attempts, or conduct network abuse
• Attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or infrastructure
• Interfere with or disrupt service stability

You are solely responsible for activity conducted under your account and for all content you transmit. The operator is not obligated to monitor, screen, or moderate content.

The Server participates in the Matrix federated network. Messages sent in federated rooms may be transmitted to and stored on third-party homeservers beyond the operator's control. The operator cannot delete or modify data held by external servers.

The Server generates logs for operational, debugging, and security purposes. By default:

• Server logs are rotated according to configured file size and backup limits
• Message content, account data, device identifiers, and metadata are retained indefinitely unless you delete your account or content
• Federated messages stored on other homeservers may persist according to the policies of those servers

The Server is provided "as is" and "as available". The operator makes no guarantees regarding uptime, reliability, message delivery, or data retention.

To the fullest extent permitted by United States law, the operator shall not be liable for any damages arising from use of the Server, including loss of data, communications, or service interruption. Total liability shall not exceed $50 USD.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Server or violation of these Terms.

The operator retains the exclusive right to suspend or permanently terminate any account or service at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.

Upon account deactivation — whether user-initiated or operator-initiated — locally stored account data may be removed from this server. Content that has already federated to other homeservers cannot be deleted by this operator and may persist indefinitely on those servers.

The operator is not responsible for any loss, disclosure, or compromise of account information or messages caused by actions or negligence of the user, including but not limited to:

• Sharing login credentials or device access
• Using insecure devices or networks
• Failing to apply client-side security updates
• Phishing, malware, or other exploits targeting the user

Users are solely responsible for safeguarding their accounts and access information.

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The Change History below records all material updates.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved under applicable US federal or state law.
